Eccoci anche quest'anno al giorno della festa dei negozi di dischi indipendenti. Quest'anno avremo due ospiti a partire dalle 15.30.
Da Firenze arriva l'Albero, progetto solista di Andrea Mastropietro, autore e produttore dei propri album, che mescolano la tradizione della canzone italiana con influenze internazionali. Dal suo esordio ha pubblicato due dischi, Oltre quello che c'è (2016) e Solo al sole (2020), accolti con entusiasmo da critica e pubblico. Ha collaborato con Federico Fiumani (Diaframma) e ha condiviso il palco con artisti come Riccardo Sinigallia, Dente, Shel Shapiro e Bobo Rondelli. Cielo e Sfacelo è stato anticipato dai singoli Fuga in Re, In una stanza, Io mi voglio perdere.
Da Genova l'amico Paolo Bollero con i suoi Rice on the Record, evoluzione di Ashtray, progetto solista di Paolo Bollero (voce e chitarra). Il debutto In a Slow Silent Walk (Marsiglia Records, 2007), registrato con Germana Bargoni e prodotto da Matteo Casari, segna l'inizio del percorso. Con la successiva formazione a quattro (Francesco Becchi alle tastiere, Furio Guidetti alle chitarre, Mario Mele alla batteria) la band suona accanto ad artisti come Nick Castro, Mirah, Tara Jane O'Neill, Boduf Song, Egle Sommacal, I Treni all'Alba, Stanley Brinks e Thalia Zedek , partecipando anche a diverse compilation della scena indie ligure. Nel 2012 esce They Have Spread Confusion (Fabbrica Musicale Records), con la partecipazione di Mike Watt (Minutemen, Firehose, Stooges) al basso in una ghost track. Nel 2024 entrano Paolo Villa (batteria) e Sebastiano Bolla (basso). Il nuovo album, Keeping Patience in the Chaos, uscito il 12 marzo 2026 su marsiglia records/incadenza è stato registrato allo Studio K con la produzione e supervisione artistica di Berna, vede la partecipazione di ospiti come Mike Watt, Thalia Zedek e Charlie Risso.
7CD clamshell box anthology featuring recordings of the legendary West Coast band Quicksilver Messenger Service made between 1967 and 1972. Formed in San Francisco in 1965, the band were contemporaries of local acts such as Jefferson Airplane and the Grateful Dead, achieving huge popularity in the Bay Area of California thanks to their imaginative psychedelic rock which drew on jazz, classical and folk influences. Their live performances were legendary thanks to their extended improvisational ability and the interplay of John Cipollina and Gary Duncan's guitar playing, ably backed by David Freiberg (bass) and Greg Elmore (drums). In the late 1960s their musical approach influenced many emerging artists both in the USA and Europe (with the British band Man being huge admirers) thanks to their 1968 self-titled debut and the classic 'Happy Trails' album released a year later. In 1969 the band augmented their line-up with the arrival of Dino Valenti (guitar, vocals) and renowned British keyboard player Nicky Hopkins.
Although not as commercially successful as their West Coast compatriots, the band's albums all charted in the USA. This clamshell box set collection includes the albums 'Quicksilver Messenger Service', 'Happy Trails', 'Shady Grove', 'Just For Love', 'What About Me', 'Quicksilver' and 'Comin' Thru', along with an additional 15 bonus tracks drawn from demos, rare singles and a 1968 live concert recording. 'Who Do You Love – The Recordings 1967-1972' also features an illustrated booklet with a new essay featuring exclusive interviews by journalist Mike Mettler.
