I Rainbow Chasers diventano Lark Rise Band per ridare vita a un progetto teatrale-musicale che negli anni settanta era stato pubblicato su vinile col titolo "Lark Rise to Candleford". Successivamente nel 1981 una trasmissione televisiva della BBC ha riproposto il ritratto di Flora Thompson nel contesto rurale dell'Inghilterra vittoriana. Alcune delle composizioni preparate negli anni ottanta per il National Theatre sono state recuperate e riproposte in questo CD insieme a nuove composizioni. Ashley Hutchings, il produttore di questo nuovo lavoro, è anche autore di Queenie's Bees (composta insieme a Ruth Angell) e interprete di una bella versione di John Barleycorn. Da notare infine il suggestivo lavoro grafico di Malcolm Holmes sulla base di fotografie di Geoffrey Woodley.
